The job
Reporting to the Senior Host Broadcast Venue and Operations Manager in Nyon, the Euro 2024 Broadcast Venue Manager (m/f/d) has responsibility for the venue-related broadcast operations for half of the UEFA EURO 2024 venues. The Broadcast Venue Manager (BVM) will be based on Frankfurt and embedded within the Euro 2024 GmbH operations group. The role oversees UEFA’s host broadcast (HB) operations, and oversees and protects the interests of the unilateral broadcast partners as well as the mission of the Media Rights & Production Services Unit. The Broadcast Venue Manager supervises the venue-based management teams and organises the venue-based multilateral and unilateral television operations.

List of relevant tasks & responsibilities
  • Holding overall responsibility for venue-related broadcast operations;
  • Organizing and implementing the venue-based multilateral television operations, including unilateral services offered at the venues;
  • Acts as the principal contact with UEFA and liaises with the EURO 2024 GmbH Operations Division to ensure smooth HB and unilateral planning’s at each venue.
  • Coordinating and overseeing the planning and installation of all equipment and facilities for HB service providers;

Pre-tournament main responsibilities
  • In the tournament preparation, has overall responsibility for the venue-related broadcast coordination and operations at half of the German venues. 
  • In close coordination with the Senior Broadcast Venue Manager based in Frankfurt and with the Marketing Host Broadcast (MHB) team in Nyon, she/he manages, allocates and coordinates the venue-based multilateral television operations, including unilateral services offered at half of the German venues. 
  • Close coordination and cooperation with the EURO 2024 Operations team in Frankfurt.  
  • Prior to the tournament, the Broadcast Venue manager (BVM) prepares, conducts a handover to the respective event-time BVMs and then concentrates on his/her venue during the tournament.

In- tournament main responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for all venue-related broadcast operations at a specific venue. 
  • Organizes and implements the venue-based multilateral television operations, including unilateral services offered at his/her venue. 
  • Manages and supervises the venue-based management teams. 
  • Coordinates all HB venue operations activities at the venue, and is the line of communication to the IBC. 
  • Ensures that all facilities and services booked by unilateral broadcast partners are in place and delivered, as advised by the senior broadcast liaison officer (SBLO).
Education
  • Very good host broadcast and production experience and understanding of the concepts of TV broadcasting, Host Broadcasting & Broadcast venue management
  • Quick to understand, attention to detail and good judgement
  • Strong team player with solutions-based approach
  • Very good communicator & able to adapt to different cultures
  • Fluent in English written and verbal
  • German native is a plus
Work experience
The ideal candidate should have a very good host broadcast and production experience and understand the concept of TV broadcasting and HB venue management. Experience in a leading broadcast operational and managerial role on a comparable size sporting event (such as UEFA EURO, FIFA World Cup or the Olympic Games) is essential to have.
