Medical Services Manager

The job
The Medical Services Manager (m/f/d)  is responsible for representing the medical unit in delivering a full medical program before and during EURO 2024. The key role will be ensuring the proper implementation of the administrative procedures and processes of the UEFA EURO 2024 in all 10 venues and each participating team of the tournament.

List of relevant tasks & responsibilities
  • Liaising with the LOS and Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) for the preparation of the Medical Concept for EURO 2024 tournament 
  • Working very closely with the local CMO and UEFA’s CMO in all medical topics
  • Updating specific medical provision for the EURO 2024 according to the Medical Regulations + (MR+), responsible for reviewing medical plans provided by host, liaising with UEFA colleagues, LOC and LOS to ensure implementation of UEFA requirements, organizing inspections with experts as needed.
  • Attending UEFA Medical Inspections on-site
  • Host medical briefings with the pitch side emergency team and the stadium medical manager
  • Liaising between the Medical review system and the team doctors
  • Participate in UEFA Medical Committee meetings
  • Representative of Medical budget
  • Support UEFA injuries studies and all other medical research studies
  • Support the organization of various medical projects such as medical workshops
  • Update general documents according to changes in the Medical Regulations  
  • Host and present at team workshops and medical meetings for the NAs as well as at unit meetings
  • Publish articles for UEFA, public communication, and social media
  • Contact person for teams and match officials before and during the tournament
  • Support the UEFA AD Unit to implement the testing programme in Germany:
    • Facilitate the liaison with the competent authorities
    • Organize and support in the preparation of meetings in Germany (if needed)
    • Support in the writing of official letters to German authorities such as BMI, Custom, Airport Security, , NADA, etc.
Education
  • Bachelor's or equivalent qualification
Work experience
  • Experience in football and sports medicine settings
  • Knowledge in high-performance sport matters
  • Working experience in a similar position would be an advantage
  • Experience in sport events would be an asset
Set of Skills
  • Event management knowledge and experience (Proficient)
  • Project management (Proficient)
  • German (Mother tongue/Proficient)
  • English (Proficient), any other language is an asset
  • Computer-literate: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook (Proficient)
  • Excellent communication skills - oral and written
  • SAP knowledge (Intermediate)
  • Interest in football medicine would be an asset
  • Ability to present confidently in front of different target groups
  • Solution-oriented work for any eventual issues concerning public and general health
  • Ability to operate within an international environment
  • Flexibility to work on weekends
