The job
The Technical Event Manager (m/f/d) is a member of the Technical Services & Overlay team. This position is responsible for the planning, tendering and implementation of all event technology required for the hospitality areas at the EURO 2024 in Germany, such as lighting, PA systems, Video systems and the power supply. This incumbent acts as an internal service provider for the UEFA hospitality production (HPRO) unit. During the planning phase, the position will be based in Frankfurt. During the UEFA EURO 2024 Tournament, the Technical Event Manager might be based at the Venue hosting the Final Match.

List of relevant tasks & responsibilities
  • Conducting a detailed survey of the existing stadium infrastructure, such as 
    • power supply points (incl. kitchens), 
    • available AV & lighting systems (including technical features, such as dimming, colour changes, etc.),
    • rigging points (ceiling), 
    • fixing points (for cables, lighting, other equipment), 
    • weight load restrictions (floor);
  • Compiling a list of requirements for any areas used for hospitality production (including kitchens) in order to allow the stadiums to provide all relevant information for a full gap analysis (e.g. clearance heights, delivery routes, etc.)
  • Planning all additional technical equipment for stadium internal and – if relevant – external hospitality production areas, including PA systems, lighting, video equipment, trussing, etc.
  • Sourcing potential suppliers, based on the hospitality concept and the creative concept for implementation in all 10 venues across Germany
  • Procuring equipment and services based on the implementation concept and in close cooperation with the procurement department
  • Compiling and distributing an implementation handbook for the future suppliers, describing the expected service level onsite
  • Being in the lead for all technical elements of the hospitality concept with detailed knowledge about event technology and a deep understanding of design needs, including extensive experience in turning creative concepts into technical requirements
  • Participating in the development of a concept for light, sound and video installations in the hospitality areas of EURO 2024 in collaboration with the hospitality team and its creative agency
  • Compilation of a power requirements catalogue for each venue that needs to be either adapted in regards to the existing power connections in the stadiums or updated
  • Evaluating the event technology and power supply providers in a tender process and planning the implementation in detail, In collaboration with the catering company
  • Planning technical installations to meet the high ‘look and feel’ quality standards of the event
  • Overseeing and preparing the production with the suppliers by creating maps and technical drawings, devising set-up and dismantling plans and handling changes at each venue
  • Briefing, leading and overseeing the supplier venue team and developing installation guidelines and operational plans
  • Giving guidance to venue technical services managers whenever required
Education
  • University Degree or equivalent
  • Project Management
Work experience
  • More than 6 years of experience working in event production
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in technical planning of cooperate events
  • 1 to 3 years of experience as technical project lead for the implementation of creative concepts in large scale corporate events, including line management responsibility
