The job
Team Services are responsible for ensuring the best possible conditions for all 24 national teams participating in the final tournament of EURO 2024 and supporting them during their pre-tournament preparations, throughout their stay and with their movements. EURO 2024 GmbH recruits 24 Team Liaison Officers (TLOs) that accompany and support the teams from their arrival in Germany until their departure (one TLO dedicated to a team) to ensure and maintain the best possible standards set by UEFA.  

Contract: 01.06.2024 - 16.07.2024
Mission Start date: 2 days prior the arrival of appointed team (between 07th and 11th of June 2024)
Mission End date:
maximum 2 days after elimination of appointed team (16th of July 2024 at the latest) 
Location: in Germany, depending on movements of appointed team

Start and end date may still differ slightly.

Additional Information: Availability for online and in person training sessions prior the tournament in 2024 is required.

Salary structure
With the following information, we would like to give you an insight into the general conditions and our salary ranges. The salaries we call are based on several criteria, including the project, general responsibility and the required set of skills. This includes the knowledge & skills already acquired in professional work experience as well as verifiable education in terms of a relevant degree or comparable qualification. Our positions are classified and remunerated according to the above criteria. Therefore, the monthly salary for the Coordinator position advised here is 4.000 € gross. Please note that over- or underpayment is possible depending on skills and specific experience. A bonus payment as a tournament bonus at the end of the employment is also possible.

List of relevant tasks & responsibilities
The TLO assist in delivering the highest levels of services as defined by UEFA:
  • Acting as main point of contact between the team and UEFA/EURO 2024 GmbH for all operational and organisational questions 
  • Coordinating all travel & logistical matters 
  • Ensuring smooth and efficient communication 
  • Resolving day-to-day issues
Purpose
  • Confirming and arranging the teams’ transport schedule with the Head Driver, from the arrival of the teams at the airport until their their final departure, including the tracking of drivers’ hours 
  • Daily arrangement and organization of equipment transportation with the Logistics Truck Driver driver  
  • Matchday (MD) stadium operations including the collection and distribution of parking passes, accreditations, day passes, dressing room catering and ticketing 
  • Keeping precise track of (i) all communications and requests made by the team, proposed solutions, delays to implementation and satisfaction levels, and (ii) all information sent to or from stakeholders 
  • Reporting all incidents and major unforeseen requests to the Team Services Coordinator on a daily basis 
  • Coordinating and supporting accompanying staff employed by EURO 2024 GmbH (i.e. the Team Security Liaison Officer, security staff and drivers) regarding planning, accommodation, meals, etc. 
  • Ensuring that the Participating National Association (PNA) calendar is up to date and that all updates are communicated to Team Services and accompanying staff 
  • Working with Team Manager and Team Press Officer to support all obligatory media requirements  
  • Ensuring that additional Team Base Camp logistical matters such as Value In Kind (VIK) and Official Match Ball (OMB) are coordinated 
  • Monitoring of transportation logistics including confirming passenger lists, creating packing lists and knowing specific airport procedures, liaising with all stakeholders – including internal stakeholders such as relevant functional areas within UEFA (particularly Match Directors, Team Security Liaison Officers, UEFA Media Officers and drivers) and external stakeholders such as members of the appointed team, hotels, training grounds, stadiums and airports – in a timely manner and maintaining excellent relations with all parties. 
The Team Manager of the PNA will be the TLOs’ main point of contact. The TLO may be asked to assist the Team Manager in various ways, including 
  • Accommodation and catering arrangements 
  • Teams’ training requirements (equipment, refreshments, ice, etc.) 
  • Media obligations 
  • Attending/assisting meetings (e.g., match organisational meetings or team meetings)
Requirements
  • Sport management bachelor’s degree or similar 
  • Experience with football teams/logistics/administration
  • Experience as a TLO or working in an international sports event management, particularly in the area of team services
  • Experience in working with intercultural teams is an asset
  • German (Proficient/native), English (Proficient), + any other language is an asset
  • Ideally, knowledge of the language and/or culture of another potential participating team
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Good understanding of the travel and logistics requirements of professional sports team
  • Project Management and excellent organizational skills
  • IT skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) (Advanced)
  • Basic football knowledge and match day operations
  • Professional attitude and the ability to deal with confidential information in an appropriate manner and respect the privacy of team members (particularly players)
  • Diplomacy, a service-oriented approach, patience and excellent communication skills, especially in high pressure situations
  • Problem-solving skills, resourcefulness and a sense of initiative in a service-oriented approach
  • Ability to deal with high pressure situations
  • Positive attitude, energetic and cultivated appearance
  • Leadership skills, social and emphatic: having a good sense for people and their needs in stressful situations (e.g. on match days)

After screening all applications, we will start inviting interesting candidates for the first step in the recruitment process to a time-shifted video interview. Here, you will receive a questionnaire with some general and some job specific questions, which you have to answer via video or written. The second step for the short-listed candidates in the process is then a video interview with HR and the relevant project. As a third and last step follows a final video interview.
