The job
At each of the 10 EURO 2024 stadiums, the onsite Venue Management Team is responsible for overseeing the planning and final preparations of day to day and match day venue operations. The Senior Venue Manager is supported by a Deputy Venue Manager and a Venue Management Coordinator. Together, they must prepare, coordinate, and support the onsite team in the successful delivery of efficient, safe, and high-quality services to all client groups attending matches (the participating national teams, match officials, guests, spectators, etc.). 

The Deputy Venue Manager (m/f/d) plays a key role in supporting the Senior Venue Manager in all his*her duties. It will remain under the discretion of the Senior Venue Manager to delegate specific duties and tasks to his*her deputy. Overall, the Deputy Venue Manager should be able to demonstrate similar attributes required by a Senior Venue Manager although less seniority might be expected for this position. The right candidate will be openminded and eager to support when called upon to support in the resolution of any issue that may arise on-site.

Salary structure
With the following information, we would like to give you an insight into the general conditions and our salary ranges. The salaries we call are based on several criteria, including the project, general responsibility and the required set of skills. This includes the knowledge & skills already acquired in professional work experience as well as verifiable education in terms of a relevant degree or comparable qualification. Our positions are classified and remunerated according to the above criteria. Therefore, the monthly salary for the Manager position advised here is 5.000 € gross. Please note that over- or underpayment is possible depending on skills and specific experience. A bonus payment as a tournament bonus at the end of the employment is also possible.

List of relevant tasks & responsibilities
This right candidate will demonstrate the ability to balance hands-on operational duties and administrative tasks. He*She supports the Senior Venue Manager in the following tasks: 
  • Creating the conditions for delivering world-class football matches and an outstanding spectator and guest experience while ensuring good and productive working conditions for venue on-site staff
  • Establishing and implementing effective and efficient management to ensure smooth operations at the venue and high-quality match organisation according to UEFA policies
  • Leading the final preparations of the venue during the pre-set-up and set-up phase and ensuring the proper dismantling of the EURO overlay and handback of the stadium to the venue owner/operator
  • Successful collaboration with service providers, stadium operator/owner, police, emergency services and other relevant partners
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely flow of information/reporting to the central venue management team throughout the deployment phase on-site
  • Management central team in the organisation of working visits, venue tours and other visits/tours leading up to the final tournament
  • Ensuring, that the stadium operator and its service providers are in full compliance with the stadium contract, EURO 2024 tournament requirements and agreed planning and deliverables
  • Managing the flow of information and alignment of venue projects and their respective on-site operations
  • Delivery of EURO 2024 match day operations
  • Represents the Senior Venue Manager if the need arises
  • Playing a key role within the on-site venue management role in training and leading the venue team
  • Supporting the producing of debrief documents and final reports
Requirements
  • University degree or similar with focus on event management
  • 2-4 years relevant working experience in a sports event organisation
  • 2-4 years leading a diverse team with a multi-faceted background, responsibilities and tasks
  • English (Proficient), fluency in German, any other language is an asset
  • IT skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) (advanced)
  • IT skills: MS Projects (or similar tools) is an asset
Overall recruitment plan
After screening all applications, we will start inviting interesting candidates for the first step in the recruitment process to a time-shifted video interview. Here, you will receive a questionnaire with some general and some job specific questions, which you have to answer via video or written. The second step for the short-listed candidates in the process is then a video interview with HR and the relevant project.
