The job
In 2024, the UEFA EURO will be played all over Germany. To organise a EURO is a challenging task and we need fantastic, dedicated people in all sectors.
At the end of the planning phase (12/2023) for EURO 2024, we will start deploying the implementation teams to each of the EURO 2024 venues. The Venue Technical Manager (m/f/d) will start his/her journey with an intensive 3 weeks of training at the EURO 2024 Hub in Frankfurt, where the core planning team of Technical Services & Overlay will hand over the implementation planning for the respective venue. Right after a short holiday season, the Venue Technical Manager will move to the venue, where he/she will get the stadium ready for the tournament and overseeing technical operations during the event time. A close cooperation with the core teams of all other projects in Frankfurt an Nyon will be a key success factor.

List of relevant tasks & responsibilities
  • Ensuring an excellent cooperation with stadiums’ technical managers, engineers and technicians;
  • Acting as a link between UEFA EURO 2024 projects in Frankfurt and Nyon and the venue;
  • Liaising with the suppliers of Technical Services & Overlay, supplying services in the subprojects of Broadcasting (TEC) Power, Venue Power, Media Tribune Overlay, Sound Systems, Venue TV Services, Containers, Temperature Control Systems, Tent Structures, Camera & Presentation Platforms, Temporary Pitch View Studios, Cable Bridges, Water & Waste Water supply, Health & Safety, Technical Approval, Media Services and infrastructural adaption required in the venues;
  • Ensuring the establishment of a local Venue TECH team which acts in an open-minded, flexible and service-oriented manner in planning and implementing tournament operations;
  • Supporting other members of the TECH team in organising site visits and gathering of information;
  • Conducting detailed technical surveys of stadiums to document existing technical infrastructure;
  • Working closely with venues to delineate responsibilities and maximise the use of existing infrastructure;
  • Liaising with other UEFA EURO 2024 projects and suppliers to ensure consistency across venues;
  • Ensuring that Technical Services & Overlay sub-projects are implemented in accordance with agreed milestones and service levels;
  • Ensuring that the services at the venues are delivered in line with agreed budgets;
  • Ensuring that general administrative, reporting, knowledge management and debriefing processes are complied with and delivered to the required standard.
Work experience
  • More than 6 years of experience working in event production
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working in an international environment
  • 1 to 3 years of experience as technical project lead in event production including line management responsibility
